Bus trip details!!
August 15-17, 2023
Cost: $370per person ($360 if paid in full by 3/31/2023) A $200 deposit is required when registering.
Double occupancy hotel accommodations for two nights with a complimentary hot breakfast each morning
Motor Coach air-conditioned transportation including movies, and a restroom. Please note that none of the bus companies I got RFPs from provide WI-FI.
One dinner (Wednesday), plus snacks/beverages will be provided, the rest of your meals are on your own – to save on the upfront cost.
Our first stop is at Calico Hutch in Hayward, MN. This has been a bus trip favorite stop. They will provide us with some beverages and delicious almond cake while we shop their many kits, notions, and over 5000 bolts of fabric!
Then we will get back on the bus and eat our sack lunches (this is on your own).
Our second stop will be at Woodside Quilting, a shop offering beautiful fabrics which include a large assortment of color blenders, batiks, flannels, designer collections and the largest assortment of wide backs in central Iowa.
From here, we will be going to Applebees for dinner on your own.
Back on the bus, we will be going to the hotel in Cameron, MO.
Up and ready we will start the day at Crossroads Quilting, a lovely shop that boasts many wool and civil war reproductions, but you also find Batiks, Art Gallery and Stof, just to name a few. This shop has been identified as a Top Shop by Better Homes and Gardens Quilt Sampler, and was featured in their magazine in 2021.
Back on board for a quick ride to the Missouri Star Quilt Company. We will spend the day shopping, arriving around 11:30 and leaving at 4:30pm. It’s lovely town with so many shops. You definitely will find something you love here!
Once we board the bus, we will have an hour ride to dinner at Toot-Toot Family Restaurant. This is a comfort food buffet style eatery. We went to on our bus trip in 2021. It seemed to meet the needs of all. This meal will be provided.
We will load our full tummies back on the bus, and arrive at our hotel in Ames, IA around 8:30. This will give you time to put your feet up, contact your family and increase your credit card limit.
We will be back on the bus the next morning around 9:30.
Our final stop will be at Granny’s Legacy, a 100% family venture located in Southern Minnesota, that specializes in creating fresh and original wool applique patterns, hand dyed woolens, and wool kits. Gone are the days of hunting for that perfect piece of wool or exactly right thread, we've done the work for you.
