It’s time to replace our hot tub, and we can’t decide which one to get — another traditional wood-fired hot tub or an electric one!

Both have their advantages:

🪵 Wood-fired hot tub: Fresh water every time! You fill it yourself, so you know no one else has used the water before you. The downside? It takes time to fill and heat up.

⚡ Electric hot tub: Always hot and ready to enjoy! No filling, no fire, no waiting. Just hop in and relax!

this weekend was about our Sophie

Our girl with the horse turned 13 🤍

One more teenager in our house 😇

When after the brunch we found out the cake was left on the table 🙈

Yes, the crepes won 🏆 😅

We had lots of lake time

And we got to go watch Sky at his last soccer game if the season. Of course I didn’t get even one of his 5 goals 🤦🏻‍♀️

Someone recently asked me if this page is about our cabins or simply about our family.

And the more I thought about it, the more I realized — I’ve never really separated the two.

We fell in love with this life first. The lakes, the woods, being outside, biking, kayaking, evenings by the fire, sauna and hot tub nights, time together as a family. 🤍

And so much of what we create at our cabins comes from the things we genuinely love ourselves.

We don’t add things just because they look good on an amenities list. Ifs all about the experiences we enjoy as a family — and how we can give our guests a chance to experience those same things while they’re here.

Maybe that’s why this page has always been a mix of both. You see our cabins, but you also see the life behind them.

Because that life is what inspired so much of what we’ve created in the first place.

Our family. Our cabins. Our life at the lake. 🤍

And we’re so thankful you’re here to be part of it, FRIENDS.

P.S. Someone also asked me recently how we actually got here — to this life we’re living now.
And honestly, that’s a story of its own. 🤍

We don’t just rent cabins. We live this life too. 🤍

Bike rides for ice cream. Kids playing by the water. Evening swims after the sauna, when the lake is already getting cold. 😅 These are the simple moments we love most.

And maybe that’s why we share so much of our own life here. Because when you stay with us, we don’t just want to give you a beautiful cabin. We want you to experience the things that made us fall in love with this life in the first place.

More time outside. More time together. More memories to take home.

That’s what B Family At The Lake has always been about. 🤍

Today I was preparing our WAKEFIELD LAKE CABIN for a special guest.

No, this time it is not a guest who is coming back here 3rd time or somebody who was watching our IG for a long time and finally after few years coming to stay at one of our cabin.

Today I’m preparing the cabin for the guest who booked our cabin on the VRBO for a bachelor party.

There will be a bride in the cabin. And I had flowers in my garden. So, here I am, making a small difference for our special guests. Yes, every guest is special for is.

Direct booking or platform booking — does it really make a difference in how we treat our guests?

Not to us.

Whether you book directly through our website, find us through Instagram, or reserve through Airbnb, Vrbo, Google Vacation Rentals(yes? We are there now:), or another platform — once you become our guest, you are equally important to us.

Sometimes people feel safer booking through a large platform because they think there will be someone “on the other side” taking care of their stay.

But here’s something many travelers don’t realize:

The platform doesn’t host your vacation. We do.

They help you find our property, process your payment, and provide certain protections connected to the booking. But once you arrive, they’re not the ones answering your questions about where to have dinner, where to fish, which trail to hike, how to use something at the cabin, or what to do when you need help.

That’s us.

Platforms are incredibly valuable because they connect travelers with hosts like us.

But after that connection is made, your experience is in our hands.

It’s our responsibility to answer your questions, take care of the property, help when something comes up, share our local knowledge, and do everything we can to make your stay special.

So whether you found us through Airbnb, Vrbo, Google, Instagram, or booked directly on our website…

You are our guest. And we take care of you exactly the same way.
