Winter is here!!!❄️☃️

Now is the time to come on up and experience all of the beauty of Wisconsin's northwoods. We offer lots of things to do this time of year. Whether you want to go snowmobiling, snowshoeing, ice skating, shopping, skiing, sledding, ice fishing or just relaxing in the cabin by the fire, we have options for you. There are also lots of great dining choices in the area.

Where the Freeway Ends...

There’s a moment on the drive north — just North of Highway 8 — when the road narrows from four lanes to two, and the familiar yellow sign reads: “Freeway Ends.”

Every time, it feels like a deep exhale.

To some, it might just be a road sign. But to me, it signals something more: I’ve entered the Northwoods. The pace slows, the scenery shifts, and I feel my shoulders drop as I breathe in the pines and the possibility.

It’s not just the road that narrows — it’s my focus. From the hustle and rush to the still and simple.

Maybe life needs more signs like this. Reminders to downshift. To transition from pushing to pausing. From freeway-fast to forest-slow.

The next few weeks will be our peak fall colors season. We still have a few openings available for you come and experience the beauty of the season.

This weekend is the Beef-O-Rama in Minocqua and the Fall Fest ATV ride and scavenger hunt in St. Germain. Next weekend is Cranberry Fest in Eagle River and the St. Germain musky tournament. These are just a few of the events going on in the area. There are many more in the surrounding towns as well.
