As air quality concerns continue due to the Canadian wildfires, the health and safety of our campers and staff remain our highest priority.

At 4-H Camp Ohio, we’ve been preparing for situations like this through thoughtful planning and facility improvements. We have more than 10,000 square feet of air-conditioned indoor space, allowing us to quickly adapt camp programming from outdoor activities to engaging indoor experiences when needed.

In addition, our ongoing cabin improvement project has equipped several cabins with new air conditioning units. These improvements help ensure campers can rest and stay comfortable, even when outdoor air quality is poor.

We are working closely with OSU Extension Educators and their medical staff to monitor conditions. Decisions regarding program adjustments will be made in partnership with each county’s Extension Educator to best meet the needs of their campers.

At 4-H Camp Ohio, safety always comes first, and providing a meaningful camp experience follows close behind. We are grateful to our dedicated Board of Directors and Camp Corporation for their vision and commitment to investing in projects like air-conditioned cabins and gathering spaces. Their forward-thinking leadership allows us to continue providing a safe, enjoyable camp experience - even when unexpected challenges arise.
