Peaceful Valley Camp Peaceful Valley Camp can be your next destination for any event you have, big or small. We have a sound and video system for use in seminar type settings.

Our facilities adequately house just over a hundred people, with a small cabin available for as few as one to four. Activities include outdoor sports including a lighted baseball field and swimming pool. Enjoy a quiet time with nature all around you and spend some time away from the hustle and bustle of life. Tuesday, October 13. Another quiet day!

Afternoon led to Craig and Patti removing bins and bags of tied up pans to the basement for storage to clear out the kitchen. There are still some small items to move to the basement but very little. Good to get things moved.

- There is a light on the back of the dining hall that needs to be removed.
- More shingles need to be removed on the front and back side of the building. Help is needed.
- Now, the bigger items need to be moved and a storage built to surround for safe keeping from the winter weather. At least 4-5 men. This needs done before we can tear the building completely down.
- The walk-in cooler needs to be torn apart also.
- The kitchen shed needs to be moved away from the dining hall.

October 12. Another eventful day!

Craig, John Bush, Gary Robinson, and Allen Mansal arrived early. The goal first hand was to put away the giant water slide, tarps and water hose. And they did get it accomplished and put in the shed for storage during the winter months. Thank you guys for arriving and helping with this project.

John and Craig moved the freezers to the snack shack and we will use at least one to store ice while we are building the new Dining Hall. Patti is making ice at the house with two portable ice machines on-hand.

The air conditioner unit was pulled out of the window, the three sink unit was pulled out, the washer and dryer was removed the day before (these will be replaced since the washer broke during the summer because of being overloaded) anyone who wants to donate a new set, it would be appreciated.

Lots of miscellaneous stuff and that in itself takes time! John took lots of stuff to dispose of when he left camp for the day.

Some things cannot be done without the help of 4-5 men. Please help if able to do manual labor.

Also, Trinity Baptist, Ed Carter, has donated pulled pork and chicken to help provide food for the volunteers. Thank you, Ed. Itā€™s in the freezer waiting to be eaten by volunteers! šŸ˜Š

We appreciate any help in providing food staples. Patti is willing to cook, and has done so already. We need help to provide this service to keep volunteers happy.

What and how and when can you volunteer to be of service to Peaceful Valley Camp - Dining Hall Rebuild and parking lot? We Need You!!!

October 10, a quiet day!

Some things were accomplished when a family of four showed up to volunteer in the afternoon. They were Jason, Valerie, Nolan and Julia Huskey. Jenna decided to celebrate her day with grandma! Happy Birthday to Jenna! šŸŽ‰šŸŽ‚šŸŽŠ

Chairs were put in the Upper Room, the outside light on the front, cell phone booster and an old light frame by Jason. Then they all went around back to the lower part of the roof and removed the shingles and put them in the trailer.

We didnā€™t get any pictures. But we know they were busy with a job needed doing.

Small things are needing to be moved out of the building yet! Help is need to do that.

Then the next thing needing done is removing all the appliances under shelter. That will need the help of several men. Plus building the shelter around them out in BLANCHE area. That will be started as soon as possible, Monday???? Need man power on this section.

October 9, What a day!!!

MFA showed up early to move the propane tank out of the way. The giant Bell was removed and placed over next to the tank. There were several involved to get that moved.

Valerie, Nolan, Julia and Jenna Huskey came out to help put different items where needed in the camp. They managed to clean a closet in the Upper Room so that it could be used for storage from the Dining Hall. They also picked up roof shingles, checked rubber balls for use during games, and they removed the mattress covers from beds at Blanche Dorm.

John Bush removed the windows that were auctioned off at the Banquet fundraiser, and Craig worked doing misc projects as needed. Removed the donation box outside the building. And helped others where needed his help.

First meal prepared by Patti, for today was Sloppy Joes and Mac & Cheese. Some left before it was finished. Maybe next time.

While in the Upper Room after lunch, Patti and Amy, Jaelyn, Jackson, Mylia and Molly Redecker, started setting up the dining areas to have seating for others that would come out to work during the next 7 months. It was a task that soon took shape with the help of them pulling tables, chairs, unpacking bins with paper products and placing in certain areas in the room. There is an area for drinks, food setups, dessert table, microwave, food table to hold what others bring already prepared, plates, silverware, napkins, cups, etc.

Even had Patti making ice today in their smaller version of an ice machine! šŸ˜Š The freezer that was moved to the Snack Shack on Monday decided it was too tired to keep working, so all the ice that was saved to use, melted! So it had to be the next best thing without going to the store.

The back exit to the kitchen is cleared. The giant size cooler needs to be removed. If you want it call Craig. Otherwise, it will be destroyed and soon!!!

Itā€™s the small things that need doing too! And it can be difficult without several pitching in to help. The Dining Hall looks like a ghost building! Still a few machines that need removed. But itā€™s getting closer to the ā€œoldā€ coming DOWN!

October 8, Craig managed to remove the shingles off the old Dining Hall front side. Which took several hours. Patti and Craig moved more things to the Upper Room to help prepare and serve for meals when the time comes.

Not a very busy day but every minute/hour counts to get us closer to the building coming down!

We appreciate any helpers we can get. Even if we donā€™t have something to do on the building, helping in other areas are just as vital to our overall success. Wonā€™t you give us a call and help where you can?

Wednesday, October 7, Craig was doing things in camp. Moving some other things to the Upper Room. He started on the roof to start removing the old shingles that must come down before any other part comes off.

Then, after lunch, Patti and Craig cleared paper goods from the kitchen shed. Which should last throughout the building process. Unless, we get a whole lot of volunteers out to help. Which would be great!!!

Most of what we moved was paper products and silverware. The Upper Room will need to be organized before bringing in food.

We are accepting any volunteer(s) that are willing to help. If you call Craig at 573-225-2387 or the PV camp phone 573-535-4963 and leave your name, phone number, date you plan to be out here, that would help us prepare for your arrival and what needs to be done that day or days!

On Tuesday, October 6, Dan Dickerson came to camp by himself to work on the dining hall. He took care of disassembling the sinks, the ice machine to get them ready to move. Dan also took several items up to the Upper Room, coffee machine, microwave, paper products that can be used to help feed folks that come out to volunteer.

Dan did an awesome hard days work. Thank you and God Bless you for working to getting things out of the dining hall.

Folks, this is like moving week here at camp! It takes a lot of work to figure out where to put things to get this building down. If your like me, you just know things need doing to get the move complete. We are getting closer and do appreciate the ones that have worked so diligently!

Work commenced on the tearing down of the Camp Dining Hall on October 5, 2025.

Tables and chairs were moved to the Upper Room by John Bush and Craig Petzoldt. They also moved one of the freezers to the snack shack. The picnic tables were arranged for an eating area. Water heater and gas stove was unhooked and ready to move, parking blocks were moved, Gaga pit was disassembled and moved.

Dan Dickerson came out to pack up the kitchen dishes and cookware in tubs. All are stacked on the counter ready for moving to a part-time location.

Thank you guys for taking the time to get this Dining Hall building taken down. Looking different at Peaceful Valley Camp in St Mary MO.

More money is needed to get things built up. But we will succeed and make it right.

Pray for God to meet this need for a new dining hall. Pray for the ones that come out to volunteer, cleanup, cook and all that it requires for camps to resume in spring of 2027.

PEACEFUL VALLEY CAMP

Missouri Southeast NOTICE:

Route NN in Perry County will be closed as construction crews replace the bridge over the South Fork Saline Creek. This section of roadway is located between County Road 840 and Peaceful Valley Drive near Brewer. Weather permitting, work is scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. Monday, July 6 with completion anticipated Tuesday, Dec. 1. The roadway will remain closed until the work is complete.
