Quaint B&B on Saint Michaels Harbour

Prior to the construction of this house around 1850, this waterfront site was the location of Samuel Harrison’s steam grist and saw mill, built in 1819 and operating until Harrison’s death. In 1847, Edward Willey purchased the property from the estate attorney, John Bozman Kerr, where Willey operated a shipyard.

The Kepner house now stands on the south side of Cherry Street, fronting the St. Michaels Harbour in Talbot County, Maryland. It was built circa 1850-1870. The two story, three frame house that anchors the east end of Cherry Street with it’s two story chamfered post porch with decorative brackets and a sawn baluster handrail are two of the more significant original features, making it historical significance.

It is currently operated as a B&B and has sunrise views of St. Michaels Harbour.
