Today was the beginning of a new chapter for the cabins by Pigeon Creek. After the Case family poured their time, spirit and soul into the last few years of remodel and care of the cabins, today they handed the keys over to Jamie and Debbie Elliott as the new owners.

Jamie and I are blessed to have the opportunity to carry on the operation of the cabins as a fun get-a-way for fishermen, hunters and families to come enjoy God’s beautiful creation around Montauk State Park.

Today we enjoyed a nice walk along Pigeon Creek just behind the cabin. Here are just a few pictures.

Opening day of Trout Season 2026!

Jim and Jean Morton fired the gun to begin the season! Their families were pillars in the founding of Montauk. Both of their great grandparents bought the mill in 1903. One of them operated the mill while the other ran the general store. This year marks the 100th year of Montauk and the Morton’s are a special connection to the history of the park.

This was a special one for our family! The Mortons are also the original owners of Spring Road Cabins, now Pigeon Creek Cabins, built in 1987.
