The FIBArk Parade returns on Saturday, June 20th from 10AM–12PM, bringing downtown Salida to life with colorful floats, horse-drawn wagons, monster trucks, “Hooligan” crafts, music, and plenty of small-town Colorado charm.

This is the kind of event that makes you fall in love with Salida even more ❤️ Families line the streets early with coffee in hand, kids wave at every float that passes by, and the whole town feels like one big celebration.

The parade route runs along F Street from 6th to 1st, followed by a foot parade to Riverside Park — making it the perfect way to spend a summer Saturday in the mountains ☀️🏔️

If you’re visiting for FIBArk weekend, now’s the time to book your stay at Creekside Chalets 🌲✨ Stay close to all the excitement while still having a cozy place to relax after a full day of festivities, live music, river events, and mountain adventures.

Quick reminder for locals and visitors: several downtown streets will close starting at 7AM on June 20th, and all vehicles must be moved from closed streets by 6AM to avoid towing.

Not every improvement at Creekside Chalets is something you can see right away, but some of the best upgrades are the ones you feel after a long day of mountain adventures 🚿🏔️✨

Behind the scenes, we recently completed an upgrade to our well house with new pressure tanks designed to improve water pressure throughout the chalets and campsites.

It may not be the flashiest project on the property, but after a full day of hiking, rafting, biking, soaking in hot springs, or exploring Salida, a hot shower with strong, consistent water pressure definitely matters 💚

Running a mountain property takes a lot of care, especially during busy summer months, and we’re always investing in the little things that help make your stay more relaxing, comfortable, and stress-free. From maintaining the grounds to improving amenities and updating systems behind the scenes, every project is done with our guests in mind 🌲

The fire’s crackling, the mountain air is cooling down, and somebody already asked the important question… “Did we bring the marshmallows?” 🔥🍫✨

Evenings at Creekside Chalets have a way of turning simple moments into the best memories. One person’s hunting for the perfect roasting stick, someone’s claiming they make the “ultimate” s’more, and somehow everyone ends up gathered around the fire laughing long after the stars come out.

Girls’ weekends at Creekside Chalets have a funny way of turning into core memories. The mountain air makes everyone relax a little faster, the creekside setting makes conversations last longer, and suddenly nobody cares what time it is.

Spend the day exploring Salida, soaking in the hot tub, grabbing coffee downtown, or pretending you’re going on a hike but somehow ending up shopping instead. No judgment here. 💁♀️✨

Then come back to cozy cabin nights, wine under the trees, snacks on the table, and the kind of uninterrupted bonding time that’s almost impossible to find in real life.

Honestly, the hardest part of the trip might be leaving. 💚

Mid-May in Salida comes with sunny adventure days and cool mountain nights that practically beg for a hot tub soak. ♨️🌲 One minute you’re out exploring trails, paddling the river, or wandering downtown with a coffee in hand… the next, you’re sinking into warm bubbling water while the evening air drifts through the aspens.

That balance of crisp mountain air and hot water never gets old. It’s relaxing, recharging, and somehow makes you lose track of time in the best way. Add in the sound of the creek nearby and a sky full of stars, and your evening plans suddenly become very simple.

Our pet-friendly campsite has officially earned two paws up from this fluffy campsite supervisor, who spent the afternoon relaxing by the creek, judging the fish, and making sure absolutely no snack crumbs were left behind. 😂

At Creekside, your dogs are part of the adventure too. Morning walks by the water, plenty of space to explore, fresh mountain air, and cozy evenings under the stars, it’s basically their dream vacation… and yours too. 🏕️✨

So pack the leash, grab the treats, and bring your favorite camping buddy along for the ride. Salida adventures are always better with muddy paws and happy tails. 🐾

Nothing makes us smile bigger than hearing our guests truly settled in and enjoyed every little moment of their Salida escape. 💚

Jeremy recently stayed with us for a spring getaway and shared the sweetest review:

“Fantastic stay for a little Spring escape! Perfect for two dogs and plenty of adventures. The private hot tub was a nice addition, and the sound of the creek was incredibly relaxing for several days.”

And honestly… spotting a family of deer across the creek at dusk sounds pretty magical to us too. 🦌✨ Add in a good book from the Little Free Library, mountain air, peaceful evenings, and cozy chalet nights, and that’s exactly the kind of Creekside stay we hope every guest experiences.
