Hurra for Syttende Mai! Saturday's weather was perfect for Constitution Day: Cloudy and cool enough to wear a bunad! That may be the reason record numbers of participants showed up to honor the founding of the Norwegian Consitution and celebrate their Norwegian connections. Thank you to all who showed up early to get things set up (it's a LOT of work) and who stayed to put it all away again (also a LOT of work). See video and pictures at:

Many hands made light work at the annual dugnad (service project) in the Norway Garden of the International Peace Gardens in Salt Lake City. Thank you to all who helped out!

Thanks to all who showed up last Saturday morning to help spruce up the Norway Garden in preparation for 17.mai. The stabbur and bridge got new coats of paint. The stabbur got fresh mulch. The Bauta Stone and benches got a new coat of sealant. The flower beds were weeded, the bushes were trimmed, the fjord was tidied up, and the city will be planting flowers soon. The Leif Erikson Chapter 6-83 of Sons of Norway was founded on November 5, 1966. In the years since, it has been a key contributor in honoring and preserving Norwegian culture in Utah. Project 2/60 embodies our aspirations for the next 60 years.
