The Ruby is a labor of love — not a maximized investment. We’re not developers or real estate investors; we’re a couple who couldn’t let go of their first home and the memories created there. Our goal is to preserve what makes The Ruby special: genuine hospitality, thoughtful design, and the feeling of being truly at home. While we prioritize returning guests an

d referrals, we also welcome new visitors who appreciate intentional spaces and slower living. You won’t find The Ruby on Airbnb or VRBO — it allows us to offer a more personal experience and flexibility for those who love this place as much as we do.

UMOCA will host its annual gala on 6/13: Acid West.

This year’s theme takes its cue from UMOCA’s exhibition Altered States in the Acid West, inspired by the Acid Westerns of the 1960s and 1970s.

Think a West refracted through glitter, grit, and strangeness—edgy, hallucinatory, and a little unhinged.

002 / Ruby Art Guide

We first saw the birds in Tulum (2014-2015?), but in a much different palette. We weren’t exactly buying art at the time and were probably just happy to be on vacation.

Years later, when planning a birthday gift for Bren. the birds resurfaced as an idea so I went “hunting”.

confirmed the version we’d seen had been discontinued, but that the artist was working on a new edition. This giclée print, from a series of 170, is part of that release.

Friedeberg was an Italian-born Mexican artist and designer. Playful and precise, just right for the office at The Ruby.

ADN Galería confirmed that version had been discontinued, but that the artist was working on a new edition. This giclée print, from a series of 170, is part of that release.
