Definitely my favorite local BBQ joint. Great portions and prices!

In Saluda, North Carolina, Green River BBQ is a true comeback story, and a tasty one at that. After Hurricane Helene came through town and caused heavy damage, this small smokehouse worked hard to rebuild and open its doors again with the same spirit people have always loved. The pit turns out pulled pork, brisket, ribs, chicken, and turkey, all smoked low and slow until tender and full of rich flavor. Plates come out loaded, with rib racks hanging over the edges, thick-cut brisket slices, and pork portions big enough to share. The sides are just as good, with fried green tomatoes, crispy onion tangles, creamy mac and cheese, and their well-known tomato pie. Make sure to save room for banana pudding, a local favorite that rounds out the meal. It’s a story of hard work, strong roots, and real Carolina barbecue done right.
