Kate’s favorite part about the house:

It’s hard to pick just one! The kitchen is definitely at the top of my list. We added a beautiful new countertop that had to be delivered by crane (great entertainment for the boys!). We also added charming wicker lights that I’d love to put in my current house. I love to cook so I made sure there is plenty of new pots and pans for everyone to enjoy. Oh and of course, open shelves for those extra large mugs of coffee in the morning and big wine glasses for my favorite drink of choice, a glass of Cabernet

Where are we from?

We live 15 miles west of Chicago in a neighborhood called Hinsdale. Kate’s family has been vacationing in the Outer Banks for the last 20 years. Chris has been lucky enough to come on most of them with her! We both fell in love with the island and everything it has to offer. Some of our best memories are in OBX!

The Hotter Otter is a 6 bedroom, 6 1/2 bath home in Salvo, NC. We are located across the street from the sound and only a half mile walk to the ocean! Sound views in almost every window of the house 😍 We also have an office with a day bed, downstairs pull-out couch (queen) and crib for your littles! The house was completely renovated in the winter with new appliances and furniture throughout. It’s our home away from home that we’d love to share with you❤️

Why the name Hotter Otter?

We have three boys Henry(3), Oliver (almost 5) and Theo (19 months) that spell HOT. No, we did plan this while having them.. we just loved the names! Our house is located in the beautiful neighborhood Wind Over Waves on Otter Way in Salvo, NC. Hotter Otter just came together one night when we were thinking of the best name for our first short term rental 🌊☀️
