Great article from National Geographic praising the Outer Banks and especially the shoulder season. We don't have anything open for the rest of May but from August 15th onward we have lots of availability. September and October are my favorite months to be at Everybody Wants Sun. The best part, costs are much less than the high season! Just be sure to buy trip insurance, it's a low price (usually a hundred dollars or so) for peace of mind just in case of a hurricane.

I’m here at Everybody Wants Sun this weekend because we have a big surprise coming tomorrow!! Right now, I’m enjoying my old fashioned evening cocktail on the deck and keeping my eyes peeled for whales! Several have been spotted just off shore over the past few days! I’ll let you know if I spot any!!
