CALLING FAR AND WIDE FOR VOLUNTEERS!
Hatteras Island is Officially OPEN, meaning everyone who has been messaging all week on how to get here and help, can now get here and help. :)
AND WE NEED IT!

FRISCO Volunteer Fire Department is the place to meet.

8:30am Each Day...
Hatteras Methodist Men are organizing Teams each morning, that will help cleanup one home at a time!
The more Volunteers they have, the more Teams they can send out, & the more homes we can get taken care of at once!

For those who can help with yard work, and/or tree work, please bring trailers if possible. The debris needs to be hauled to the side of HWY 12 from the home.
-
Now that the Island is back in operation, any and all outside Volunteers we can get will make the biggest difference, since locals are having to return back to work.

11am at the Catholic Church in Buxton.

Makana is back in shape and awaiting the return of visitors to Hatteras Island.
✅✅✅
We will be spending some time helping friends and neighbors to the south in coming days, but for now, we can enjoy the return of sunny days in Salvo.

Hurricane Dorian update:
We are safe and Makana fared well without major incident.
👍🏽
Our town on the northern end of Hatteras Island was spared the worst of the storm that struck the lower villages and Ocracoke so hard.
Dare County is assessing damage, NC DOT is working on clearing NC Hwy 12 and Cape Hatteras EMC is hard at work restoring power.

We expect to be hosting guests again soon.
