Adobe Lodge

Adobe Lodge Full service hunting lodge with guided white tail deer hunts. The Home Camp lodge is, indeed, partly constructed of adobe bricks.

Originally built in 1982-83 by Pedro Contreras, San Felipe, Gto., Mexico, the facility has been added onto a couple of times. It now has six bedrooms and three bathrooms. Hunters stay two-to-a-room, and each two rooms share a bathroom. Our best number is eight deer hunters or ten turkey hunters, but if you count every bed in the place, we could sleep 16. For deer season, we have an overnight staff of five - four guides and the cook. For more information visit www.adobelodge.com

Thanks!

In talking to several ranchers recently, I'm hearing good reports on the wildlife situation. They are seeing plenty of fawns, good bucks, lots of baby turkeys and fat deer. All this is good news.

Max Sanders is invaluable when it comes to trail cameras. He faithfully checks them at least once a week, harvesting the old card full of photos and inserting a blank one. Periodically, he will move the cameras to new locations. Max prefers to put cameras in pastures which have no livestock. Not only do you get a string of unwanted photos of domestic critters, unfortunately the livestock use the camera stand as a scratching post, most often knocking the device to the ground. And we don't need any photos of ants or beatles.

Anyway, here are the better photos from Max's most recent collection. That's another good thing about his work - he spends hours sorting through scads of photos looking for the keepers.

Our gobblers are in boot camp, training for the coming skirmishes. They are marching in expert formation and will be formidable foes. If you would like to enlist to help form defensive lines on the front, let me know quick. The season is almost here.
