Every year a pair of make a nest in our rain conducting system. We have had a rather dry season this year but still not enough time to make the nest, hatch the eggs, and prepare the chicks to survive. Again we received rain and the nest ended up in our rain barrel. If they don’t realize their continued error they won’t have children or grand children

We are making “My Farm” open to guest, to provide some perspective on early 20th-century farm life in San Antonio, Texas. Find our listing on AIRBNB City Living in the City - The Chicken House and The Bunkhouse. We are long ways from completing our goals but much can be shared with you. We are also using Permaculture principals to develop the site. The farm dates from the early 20th century, originally operating on 260+ acre with access from Nacogdoches Road, originally El Camino Real (1691). Today the remains of the historic farmstead are located on one acre, comprised of the original farmhouse, outbuildings and a fifty-year-old bunkhouse where the guests stay. The site is only minutes away from the San Antonio airport and twenty minutes from downtown.
