Photo taken in 2002 to of Maria Esther (Assistant Housekeeping Manager), Jamie (Front Desk/Reservations) and Cathy (Housekeeping Manager). Maria Esther and Cathy have retired and Jamie moved to Denver, Colorado. Every once in awhile Jamie will come for a visit when he is in town. They are missed!

Who misses The Treasure Hunt? Such an amazing boutique that sold all your beach essentials, along with exclusives such as Ken Done clothing, Suzy's Zoo greeting cards and Body Glove!

Thank you Karen for bringing your vision to life and giving our customers and employees such a fun place to shop! The Treasure Hunt is truly missed.!

We would like to share a deeply personal message from Karen Coffield Mahacek.

Karen - One of many sunsets from our balcony on the 3rd floor. Always stayed twice a year in room 302 or 306 to celebrate birthdays or anniversaries for at least the past 40 years. The last time was November 2024 to celebrate our 51st anniversary. Paul passed in December 2024 and I really miss him and all the fun times we shared there. I long to go back and hopefully will someday.

The Beach Cottages - We are so sorry to hear of your husband's passing. But it's nice to hear about the happy memories you shared together. We hope to see you again when you are ready to return to The Beach Cottages. Our hearts are with you. - Kind Regards, The Beach Cottages

A vintage The Beach Cottages postcard from the early fifties!

Notice that when this postcard was created, we did not have area codes, we used telephone exchanges instead. Pacific Beach's telephone exchange was HUdson. HU translates into a 4 and an 8 on your phone's numeric keypad. So in essence our phone number was 488-3841.

Also notice that the address is 4287 Ocean Boulevard. Today our address is 4255 Ocean Boulevard collectively for all of our units in the main complex.
