In the 1870s, The Cosmopolitan Hotel was once again the social center of town—but this time for galas, raffles and weddings! The building itself was the perfect representation of Old Town in that time period, a mix of Mexican-style adobe and American woodframe buildings. Some would consider it the hotel’s heyday, and it was certainly the place to be with Albert and Emily Seeley sparing no expense for guests.

Fiesta de Reyes continues the expansion of Day of the Dead Wonderland in Old Town San Diego State Historic Park! The immersive Dia de los Mu***os experience will run from October 1st through November 3rd. The Fiesta de Reyes courtyard will be filled with fanciful, humorous, and visually stimulating décor, offered as tributes to many of San Diego’s early citizens. More displays are being added this year including some that honor the long-forgotten European connection to Day of the Dead. This year, there will be more than 60 unique displays, thousands of marigolds will garner the courtyard, and live entertainment on the Fiesta de Reyes stage. Open from 11am until 9pm each day with extended hours on Fridays and Saturdays.
