We are excited to announce our third annual TeK One event, TeK One West 2016 Demo Day, to be held at the heart of the LA (The Line Hotel) on May 21st!

Building upon the huge success and momentum from last two events (2014 in LA and 2015 in Boston), our new format (Demo Day) will focus on the following activities:

1. Startup’s Demos and Pitches — We expect to have 10+ amazing Korean-American startups to make a pitch for investment. Draper Athena, SKTelcom, and other investors are coming to check out your dream start-up ideas!

2. Mentoring by Fellow Korean-American Serial Entrepreneurs — We would like TeK One to be the Go-To organization to seek advice from those with plenty of experiences on starting and running high-tech startups. You will be meeting and interacting with them to discuss your startup ideas, dreams, or even expansion plans. We have several high-profile keynote speakers coming to share their start-up experiences!

3. Networking with Fellow Startup Entrepreneurs — Throughout the day, you will be able to mingle with various start-up founders, professional investors, IP lawyers, and seasoned CEOs.

If your start-up wants to make a demo and pitch, the registration fee is FREE. If selected, TeK One will provide you with a a booth with table for demo and exhibit.

KIC Challenge Korean American Startup Competition

Thursday, January 14th, 2016
Tyson's Corner, VA

This pitch competition is open to early-stage ventures across the US, from high-growth web and mobile ventures, to double bottom line businesses, to connected devices.

Applicants must have:
a Korean/Korean American on the founding team
received less than $1M USD in funding
a technical co-founder or in-house technical lead on the team

Typical PITCH Applications span: consumer web and mobile, enterprise, big data, edutech, biotech/medtech, cleantech, hardware and more.

Applicants are from all over the US.

AWARD:

1. $5000 in cash prize

2. In addition to the Case Prize of $5,000, the winner will be invited to apply to the "Build Your Dreams in Korea" program. In this program, your team will be invited to Korea's hottest innovation hub in Pangyo Valley to work with Korean and international startups in the common work place for up to one year.
The package includes:
Round-trip ticket for 2 persons
Office space: Co-working(Annual rent fee around $12,000/ administrative expenses included)
Housing assistance: For 2 persons (Provide 1 year Studio apartment annual rent fee around $12,000)
Internship Support: For 2 persons (Local Universities Interns 6 months)
Other benefits include: Participation in incubating and mentoring programs, IR support, Start-up Recruitment, Support participate in international exhibition such as WMC/ITU etc.
Pangyo Valley office space and residential support is for 1 year, Which can be extended depending on the company’s performance
Application Deadline is December 15th, 2015.
