Welcome to the Hostel on 3rd! We are a very young hostel in a historic building (recently renovated!), located in the heart of San Diego’s Gaslamp District. Looking for a night on the town? We are one short block from the vibrant nightlife of Gaslamp. Looking for a quiet night of sleep? Our building is located in a residential block, guaranteeing a quiet, restful night. Looking for a quiet night at home? Our spacious common room provides all the necessities for a fun night in while spending time with other guests and our awesome staff. We are a few short blocks from the Downtown Convention Center, and a short way from the zoo, museums, beaches, and all that the beautiful city of San Diego has to offer!

Spring is here and its a beautiful time to be in San Diego. If you like hiking the outdoors, water is flowing in the creeks and the wildflowers are blooming. Beaches are just warm enough and not too hot And lots of events going on, from the Adams Avenue Street Fair, Chicano Park Days, Mission Fed Art Walk, Earth Day and Panda Fest food fair. Speaking of Panda's, they are back at the zoo after being sent back to China in 2019. Other new animals include 4 new Cheetah cubs and a baby giraffe named Mbi

Hi ! The spring is here, it's the perfect time to come visit San Diego !
Come stay at Hostel on 3rd located in the Gaslamp Quarter where you can fully enjoy the nightlife of San Diego and be close to the best activities like the Balboa Park, Old Town, Coronado, and Little Italy.
You might even experience going to a baseball game at Petco Park which is a 10 minute walk from the hostel !!
Also you can take the trolley which is only 5 min from the hostel to the beach, Sunset Cliffs, or to La Jolla to see the sea lions or watch the sunset !

The fascinating history of Balboa Park is central to San Diego's history. Located just two blocks from downtown, the park has a rich history, reflected in its stunning architecture, numerous exhibits and installations, and cultural events that take place throughout the year. My favorite place in Balboa Park is the very colorful Spanish Village. 🌴

Proche du centre-ville, le parc a une histoire riche, qui se reflète dans son architecture époustouflante, ses nombreuses expositions et installations et les événements culturels qui ont lieu tout au long de l'année. Personnellement, mon endroit préféré dans Balboa Park est le village espagnol que je trouve très coloré. 🌴

Today is Wednesday, day of the fabulous Ocean Beach Farmers market! I strongly advise you to go there hungry because there are delicious dishes to taste there. There's something for everyone, whether you're more sweet or savory. It takes place every Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.! 🍓

(French) Aujourd'hui c'est mercredi, jour du fabuleux marché d'Ocean Beach ! Je vous conseille vivement d'y aller en aillant faim car il y a de délicieux plats à déguster sur place. Il y en a pour tous les goûts, que vous soyez plus sucré ou salé. Il se déroule tous les mercredi de 16h00 à 20h00 ! 🍓

Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve is the best place for hiking on the West Coast. You can watch the sea crash against the Californian cliffs from many points of view accessible on foot. Or for the less sporty, you can stroll on the beach and enjoy the sun ☀️

Vous pourrez y observer la mer se déchaîner contre les falaises californiennes grâce à de nombreux points de vues accessibles à pied. For a little history, I advise you to go to the Old Town district of San Diego. Easily accessible by tram or car, this district is worth the detour. This is also an opportunity to stop at a Mexican restaurant to eat. And don't forget to stop by Heritage County Park to see historic homes with Victorian architecture!

(French) Pour un peu d'histoire, je vous conseille de faire un tour dans le quartier Old Town de San Diego. Facilement accessible en tramway ou en voiture, ce quartier mérite le détour. C'est l'occasion également de s'arrêter dans un restaurant mexicain pour manger. Et n'oubliez pas de passer par le Heritage County Park pour voir des maisons historiques à l'architecture victorienne !

San Diego is full of stunning murals. San Diego artists are very talented. As you walk around you can almost come across them at every street intersection. Why not have a day of mural rally? 🧑‍🎨
