On Thursday, May 21, the Redwood Room was full as historian Peter Devine led an evening devoted to San Francisco’s most legendary hotels: The Mark Hopkins, the Fairmont, the Palace, the St. Francis, the Sir Francis Drake, and The Clift Royal Sonesta itself.

Joining him were Ron Henggeler, whose decades at the Huntington Hotel’s Big 4 Restaurant gave him a front-row seat to the city’s hospitality history, and Marianne Milton, The Clift’s Director of Sales & Marketing.
