A powerful moment occurred on Memorial Day at Oracle Park as Korean War veteran Donald F. Reid took the mound for the ceremonial first pitch! As a dedicated board member of the Marines’ Memorial, Mr. Reid embodies the spirit of what we stand for. Seeing him honored on the Giants’ field, on a day meant for reflection and gratitude, was a reminder of the values that bring us together.

Here’s to honoring our heroes and to leaders like Mr. Reid who continue to champion their legacy.

Today we pause to recognize Children of Fallen Patriots Day, a day devoted to honoring the sons and daughters of America’s fallen service members. Behind every hero who gave their life in service to our nation is a child whose world was forever changed. And today, we honor them. May we support them not only with our words, but through meaningful action.

Today we mark Victory in Europe Day, the moment when N**i Germany surrendered and World War II ended in Europe. It’s a day to honor the millions who fought for the liberation that reshaped the world. It also stands as a powerful reminder of the cost of war and the importance of standing against tyranny. Let’s take a moment to reflect together on what their bravery made possible.
