Forty-nine beams of light rise above Civic Center Plaza, representing each of San Francisco's 49 square miles. Created by Illuminate, this striking public art installation features multicolored beams through July 4, culminating in a special red, white, and blue display for Independence Day. From the 46th floor of Cityscape Sky Bar, take in the light beams rising into the night sky while sipping a Stardust, our specialty cocktail with sparkling prosecco and edible shimmer that captures the same sense of celebration as the installation.

Visible from Cityscape Sky Bar looking north toward Fisherman’s Wharf, the SkyStar Observation Wheel rises 150 feet above the waterfront and becomes especially noticeable after dark as its lighting shifts above the Bay. The wheel adds another layer to the nighttime skyline, joining the Bay Bridge, Coit Tower, and waterfront ferries moving across the harbor below.

Coit Tower is one of San Francisco’s most recognizable landmarks, rising above Telegraph Hill and forming part of the city’s northern skyline. From Cityscape Sky Bar, it can be seen in the distance toward the north/northeast, especially in clear daylight and early evening before the city transitions into night. Cityscape Sky Bar offers a central downtown vantage point to take in the Financial District, Bay views, and surrounding landmarks.

Pride Month brings one of San Francisco's most recognizable traditions back to Twin Peaks each June: the giant Pink Triangle overlooking the city. Spanning nearly an acre, the installation can be seen from neighborhoods across San Francisco and serves as a visible reminder of the LGBTQ+ community's history and resilience. From Cityscape Sky Bar, look west toward Twin Peaks and watch this iconic symbol become part of the skyline throughout Pride Month.

The distinctive shape of the Transamerica Pyramid is what makes it one of San Francisco’s most recognizable landmarks, designed in the early 1970s by architect William Pereira to bring more light and air to the streets below while improving wind resistance and seismic stability, and from Cityscape its angular form really stands out against the skyline, especially as the light shifts in the evening.

Cocktails above the fog take on a different perspective at Cityscape Sky Bar, where you’re perched high above the skyline as clouds move effortlessly between buildings. Known locally as Karl the Fog, San Francisco’s signature marine layer drifts in each afternoon, transforming the view into something entirely unexpected. It’s a rare kind of evening—cocktails in the clouds, high above it all.

The Bay Bridge lights return this spring, bringing a new nighttime rhythm to the skyline. The installation spans 1.8 miles of the San Francisco–Oakland Bay Bridge with thousands of LED lights programmed to move in subtle, shifting patterns. From Cityscape, you can watch the display play out across the bridge as traffic moves between San Francisco and the East Bay.
