🚨❄️ Winter Storm Update – Town of Sandwich ❄️🚨
The Town of Sandwich has activated Emergency Operations to coordinate our response to a significant winter storm expected to impact our area beginning late this evening.
🌬️ What to Expect:
• High winds
• Periods of blizzard conditions
• 18”+ of heavy, wet snow
• Potential for an extended duration event

📢 Official storm updates on our Town page and website begin today, Sunday, February 22, 2026. Additional updates will be provided at:

Updates will resume at 🕗 8:00 AM Monday (2/23) morning and continue every 4 hours throughout Monday and as needed.
📅 Closures
• Town of Sandwich Offices/Facilities – CLOSED Monday, 02/23/26
• Schools – CLOSED Monday, 02/23/26
🚜 Snow Removal Operations
Department of Public Works crews, all available town personnel, and equipment are ready.
• Crews will begin clearing roads as the storm tapers off early Monday morning
• Initial focus will be on main roads
• Heavy equipment will then be redeployed to neighborhoods
• Tree crews and private contractors are on standby
⚠️ Please note: Heavy, wet snow may slow operations.
Snow removal operations are expected to continue through Monday, February 23, 2026, and likely throughout the week.

✔️ Remove all vehicles from roadways so plows can clear snow safely and efficiently
✔️ Stay off the roads — even if conditions improve Monday, crews will be working all day
✔️ Take it slow when shoveling, and check in on neighbors
