Lunch and Learn: Family Biking.👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 🚲 Join us on Wednesday, Sept. 13 at noon at the Santa Cruz Civic for our family biking workshop. As the school year shifts into gear, find out how parents and caregivers are replacing the minivan with the bike and why kids can't seem to get enough. This workshop will cover gear options, riding through the developmental stages from toddler to pr***en, and explore how to ride with kids for maximum safety, convenience, and fun.

UPDATE: We we’re able to get in contact with the victim, thank you!

PREVIOUS: Yesterday at approximately 10:43pm deputies were dispatched to a report of a bicyclist who was hit by a vehicle near the intersection of 17th Ave and E Cliff Dr. The witness followed the motorist to a residence where Deputies were able to detain him. We were unable to locate the bicyclist who was hit. The driver was intoxicated and admitted to hitting the bicyclist on purpose. He was turned over to CHP and arrested for DUI.

We are looking for the bicyclist involved, for anyone who knows the bicyclist or if you were involved please contact our non-emergency dispatch 831-471-1121 and reference case 2109095.

If you came here because you are upset about the SC ride out bike ride, please know that we are not involved in the event whatsoever. We have spent many years working on this community, advocating, building, engaging the youth, we have put countless hours into the community. What we do is opposite of what you saw today. Many people are tagging us, boycotting us, because of the event today. We do not condone those type of actions and have zero involvement.
