The "full beaver moon" refers to the full moon in November, a name that originates from a time when beavers were particularly active in building their dams and preparing for winter, and also when Native Americans and colonists set beaver traps for their pelts. Last week, this event also coincided with the last supermoon of the year, which made it appear slightly larger and brighter.
