As Artemis II completes the first crewed lunar flyby in over 50 years, I’m reminded of the great privileged to call legendary Apollo 15 astronaut Dave Scott - Apollo 15 Commander, seventh man to walk on the Moon, and first to drive the Lunar Rover - a dear longtime friend.

It is this friendship that inspired our Space Cadet Syrah/Grenache blend.

We’ve long followed the Moon’s phases in our viticulture and cellar.

Today we celebrate the brave Artemis astronauts and the brilliant minds exploring the unknown - just as we do in our cellar with wines like
Space Cadet.

We crushed fruit from the legendary Pisoni Vineyard today and the quality is unreal. Huge thanks to Mark for his next-level work in the vines and to Gary for setting the standard generations ago on their family ranch. Three generations strong in the Salinas Valley, the Pisonis are the real deal-some of the best growers in California. Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it.

15 Years On, Still Singing.
At yesterday’s winery lunch, we opened a bottle of our 2010 Le Souvenir Chardonnay—and it was nothing short of brilliant.

This wine earned top honors in a blind tasting hosted by Steven Spurrier’s Académie du Vin in both Tokyo and Osaka, where judges—many of them seasoned sommeliers and graduates of the school—mistook it for Grand Cru Burgundy.

Structured, complex, and gracefully aging, Le Souvenir continues to affirm its pedigree 15 years later. Still crafted in small lots, still built to last.
