How SoberSpaces.com can help newcomers
Some of you may not know that the treatment business is now dominated by insurance companies. Insurance companies are forced to pay for treatment under the law, but they're always looking for ways to cut costs. Sending clients to outpatient treatment centers costs a LOT less than in-patient treatment, but often the client has no safe place to stay (or is from out of state, etc.).
To solve this, outpatient centers often make deals with local sober living houses to accept partial payment from the family and then subsidize this partial payment with additional under-the-table funds.
Some of these sober living houses are great. Some are not. That's the problem.
The idea behind Sober Spaces is that there are thousands of local members of the sober community that might be willing to rent a room or an apartment to one of these clients. This might actually be the best thing for the client - staying with solid, sober people as opposed to staying in a crowded commercial home with a mix of clients who may not really want to stay sober.
That's why I'm making Sober Spaces FREE to people renting rooms or other sober spaces (and FREE to the private individuals who are offering these sober spaces for rent).
