Multiple local business in Siesta Key Village are collecting donations for relief. My mom brought down 22 brand new clothings items she bought at home in Michigan along with toothbrushes and toothpaste and my dad purchased. We felt it was important to help our local community as best we could!! 💛

Siesta Key was spared destruction and we are so grateful! We haven’t seen photos from Crescent Royale but the General Manager surveyed preliminary damage and most seems cosmetic — downed trees and shrubs, damaged perimeter fence, severely damaged car gate, damaged or missing light fixtures, pool furniture tossed about and water in at least one unit (not ours)! No update on the roof but we think it is intact. Thank you to our friends and family who reached out to check in. We feel very lucky because the devastation seen in Ft. Myers Beach and Sanibel Island was initially predicted to hit our beloved Siesta Key! Grandma & Papa were looking out for their home!

We’re fortunate that Hurricane Ian hit south of Sarasota as it appears Siesta Key is safe from the 12-16ft storm surge. Per the Weather Channel, the next few hours might be the worst yet but grateful that things on TikTok don’t seem catastrophic. Just tons and tons of trees down. Prayers to Naples and other locations south.

Roads are starting to get cut off from trees being down. We were able to make it through this one in the Jeep

Please say a prayer and send positive vibes to Siesta Key! The current path of Hurricane Ian is showing a direct hit to the Sarasota area. Watching something unfold over which you have no control is hard. I selfishly hope the path will change but thousands of people will still be in danger and may lose homes and businesses. 😞
Our beloved condo has been in our family since 1971 and my parents work so hard to maintain it. I’m personally scheduled to visit next Thursday and hope all my favorite shops and restaurants make it through okay. I’ve been told that we lost the roof in 1992 with Hurricane Andrew so hoping it doesn’t happen again. 💛

Happy Monday, folks! Our condo is so close to the beach that you can brew yourself a cup of coffee, walk across the street, and enjoy it while watching the sun rise! ⛅️ Or, you can sip it on the lanai with a beach view! 😍

Our condo kitchen is a great place to pack a cooler for the beach or cook a nice dinner! In case you can’t tell, we have modern appliances but with the charm of my grandparents original design. 🥹
