đŸ„¶ AS COLD AS ALASKA'S STATE CAPTIAL
At daybreak Tuesday, Orlando and Juneau, Alaska are both 37°. Orlando's wind chill may be colder!
Read that again.

Palm trees. Frosted grass. Sunrise in Central Florida.
Same temperature as Alaska’s southeast coast.

This is why Tuesday morning matters. It’s not just “cool.” It’s back to school after the long weekend and a cold shock for a place built for humidity, not frost and wind chills.

🚾 Kids at bus stops
đŸŒ± Plants that rarely see this
đŸ¶ Pets not used to nights like this

Florida warmth comes back later this week. But Tuesday morning arrives first.

The Dolphin Fountain at Bayfront Park has become one of Sarasota’s most recognizable waterfront landmarks—a blend of public art, local pride, and the city’s deep connection to the Gulf.
The sculpture was created in 1995 by artist Steve Dickey, a Tampa‑based sculptor and graduate of the Ringling College of Art and Design. The sculpture stands 12 feet tall and sits within a 40‑foot‑wide fountain basin. Dickey designed the piece as a life‑size bronze sculpture of four dolphins, captured mid‑leap, celebrating the natural beauty and wildlife of Sarasota Bay. The fountain’s design includes multiple zones of jets that arch toward the center, echoing the dolphins’ leap and adding a sense of motion and playfulness.
It was purchased jointly by Marina Jack and Sarasota’s Public Art Fund and added to the city’s public art collection the same year. đŸŹâ€ïž

Oyster River Ecology founder and restoration ecologist Damon Moore will give his free “Transformational Oyster Restoration in Southwest Florida - Manatee River Case Study” presentation at the Island Branch Library in Holmes Beach, 5701 Marina Drive, on Thursday, Jan. 15, at 6:30 p.m. “Join us for an engaging presentation that explores the vital role oyster reefs play in our coastal ecosystems. We’ll take a fascinating look back at Southwest Florida’s once-vast oyster resources – uncovering the surprising reasons these reefs were intentionally destroyed—and share how innovative, cost-effective restoration techniques developed by Oyster River Ecology are bringing oysters back to the Manatee River. This presentation is informative, inspiring and full of stories that will make you think – and maybe even laugh once or twice,” the event notice says.
To register to attend the free presentation visit www.eventbrite.com and search for “Manatee River Oyster Restoration Presentation.”
