A change in plans means that we now have availability up to the 27th May when we plan to arrive for our own holiday.
If anybody is interested in having the minimum of seven nights that also includes Memorial day then please let us know right away and we can defer our arrival.

Where can we advertise this lovely condo and reach others who’d enjoy it? We’ve been looking for some time for an advertising platform that respects both the owners and renters. They used to exist but became very greedy so we left VRBO and HomeAway and looked for good alternatives.
Seems like “Home Escape” is doing a great job. We just went through the listing acceptance process and they were very thorough, which is to everyone’s benefit.
Of course it all depends on the number of potential clients that they attract. Our snowbirds will soon be flying north and we have openings for the summer. So we will see soon enough. Check it out at

One kind soul from the I Love Siesta Key Facebook group pointed out to me that our website was cropping images when viewed on a mobile. The menu icon on mobiles wasn't all that good either. So a full days work trying to remember how the website works and it is now fixed, I think. If anyone still has problems viewing it at https://www.bellevue-siesta.com I would love to hear from them

We have just come to the end of updating our whole apartment. The carpet has been removed and replaced with large format porcelain tile. The master bathroom has had the old bath step up tub replaced by a lovely walk-in shower. Custom made suspended vanities have been installed in each bathroom. The kitchen has been opened up more to the living area by removing some overhead cabinets and the remaining cabinets painted white to take advantage of the extra light we get from being an end unit. At the same time we have had the TV console surround painted white to brighten up the living room. The master bedroom has been laid with a wooden floor, so comfortable with bare feet, and the walk-in closet has had new shelving installed. We live here ourselves for a couple of months each year so we want the apartment to reflect our own standards and preferences. We hope that our guests will appreciate the difference.

We dodged a bullet, or a cannonball as one friend said. Irma skirted Siesta Key to the east and by the time the onshore winds hit they had weakened enough to limit the damage on the Key. As you probably saw on the news there was no shortage of downed trees and wrecked signs but there was limited flooding and only a very small storm surge. Power and A/C has now been restored to the condo and Comcast has promised to soon restore TV, internet and phone service. There was no damage to the condo or to the resort other than a lot of debris and broken branches which are still being cleared up by the dedicated staff. Let's all breathe a huge sigh of relief and look forward to the renovation in October.

Hurricane Irma is on its way to Florida. No-one knows the exact path or what its effects will be when it arrives. One thing however is certain. All rentals are closed down until the storm has passed, services are restored and the management team gives the all clear.
Don’t even think of asking until we get that all clear.
