Hi members. I'm going to be closing down this page because I meant to set it up as a group, but instead created a page. This means anyone can see and comment.
Today is Friday June 30th. I will close it by the 4th of July.

SAVE THE DATE:

June 22nd -24th for our next camping trip in Julian California! We'll spend 2 1/2 days at the KQ Ranch Resort, which has all the amenities, like a swimming pool, electrical outlets, hiking trails, everything and it's all nestled in the foothills of the Cuyhamaca Mountains.

Saturday morning we'll head over to the Menghini Winery to camp out in their vineyard and be a part of the annual
Julian Backcountry Dance and Barbecue!
It's like camping in the middle of a big fair with Country/Western and some Rock bands playing all day while the Barbecue beef slowly cooks in the smoker in preparation for the evening's dinner. The whole event has a kind of Old West vibe or theme to it. The event is put on by the Sons of the American Legion and proceeds go to help Veterans

Hey fellow Chix, I had to change next weekend's trip to another location, because
the temperatures in Anza Borrego next weekend will be in the 90s, 😬😵‍💫 and that is just too darn 🔥🔥🔥
We've made reservations at a place called Woods Valley Campground in Valley Center, CA. There is some hiking and a swimming pool, and it's 20 minutes from Temecula if anyone feels like exploring the area or the charming little town.

Good news: Shelley has offered her house again for our next meeting!
The meeting will be held next Saturday at 4:00 p.m. It just works better for her (and me) to meet a little earlier .
Bring a small dish to share and whatever you'd like to drink, be it water, wine, whiskey or whatever. I seem to be in a mood for alliteration today!🤣🤣🤣

Hello fellow chix,
Sorry we had to cancel last week's meeting, but I just wasn't feeling well.
I've been doing some thinking, and I've mentioned some places to camp and other people thought of places, too.
I thought it would be a good idea to make an "Executive Decision" and choose the first camping location.
I'm going to reserve two sites in the Anza Borrego State Park, in a place called Palm Canyon, for the weekend of May 19-21st
It has running water, real bathrooms, and many activities available, including swimming in a natural pond.
It's $35.00/ night per site, and I thought that this first trip would just be Friday-Sunday, to see how it works out.
There is a limit of 6 people per site, first come, first served. So if you want to go, email me at

I will take the first 12 people, then create a waiting list in case of cancelations.
Once I get an idea of how many people are coming, I'll let you know the cost and give you my PayPal info.

So, those of you who were at the first meeting may recall me mentioning this.
The Julian Back Country Barbecue is hosted by the American Legion and all monies received go to various charities.
The event is held in the Menghini Winery Vinyard and everyone comes in Saturday morning and camps out Saturday night.
There are Country bands going all day, booths to purchase things, raffles and an all day Barbecue.
This year's event is June 24th.
Details to come once it is officially announced.

Happy Easter everyone, and if you don't celebrate, than Happy Sunday.
We had a great meeting last night with over 10 people and we composed a list of campgrounds that we will be calling to determine availability for different months this Spring, Summer, and Autumn. Next meeting we'll share our findings and set the dates for different trips and start making reservations.
Thanks to our host, Shelley Hawk, who hosted the meeting and provided some lovely appetizers to the snacks we all brought and even offered some Prosecco to enjoy.
Our next meeting will be next Saturday, April 15th, Same Bat time, same Bat place.
In other words, 6:00 PM at the home of Shelley Hawk.

Some of you mentioned in the original post on ND that you were in need of camping equipment. Please message me and let me know who you are. Someone who no longer needed his equipment, just t gave me so many things. Let me know what you need so I can get it to you.
