🎣🐟 STEGBONE’S WEEKLY FISHING REPORT 🐟🎣
📍 St. Johns River | Satsuma, Florida
📅 October 12–18, 2026

🍂 FALL FISHING IS HERE! 🍂

Good morning from Stegbone’s Fish Camp & Resort! Fall is settling in along the beautiful St. Johns River, and we’ve got some promising fishing opportunities ahead. Here’s what anglers should be targeting this week!

🎣 LARGEMOUTH BASS — GOOD OUTLOOK!
Bass are a top target this week! Look for fish around grass lines, docks, shell beds, and creek mouths. Try spinnerbaits, crankbaits, soft plastics, or live shiners. Keep an eye out for baitfish and shrimp activity along the river.

🐟 SPECKLED PERCH (CRAPPIE)
It’s getting closer to speck fishing season! As temperatures begin cooling, look for specks around deeper structure, brush piles, and creek channels. Live minnows and small jigs are your best bets.

🐟 BREAM & SHELLCRACKER
There’s still an opportunity to catch some nice panfish! Try fishing around docks, vegetation, and fallen trees with red worms, wigglers, or crickets.

🐱 CATFISH — GOOD OUTLOOK!
Catfish remain a dependable target. Fish the deeper holes, channel edges, and areas with moving water. Cut bait, nightcrawlers, and other natural baits are worth trying.

🌤️ WEEKLY WEATHER OUTLOOK
We’re expecting warm afternoons in the 80s early in the week, with cooler mornings and temperatures easing toward the weekend. Early mornings and late afternoons should offer comfortable fishing opportunities.

🌊 RIVER & TIDE CONDITIONS
Water levels have been elevated following recent rain and tidal influences. A coastal flood advisory is in effect for portions of the St. Johns River basin through 4 PM Monday, October 12. Use extra caution around docks, boat ramps, and flooded shorelines.

The afternoon high tide near Palatka is predicted around 5:20 PM Monday, 6:01 PM Tuesday, and 6:40 PM Wednesday. Moving water around these tidal changes may offer feeding opportunities.

⏰ BEST TIMES TO FISH
🌅 Early morning — sunrise through midmorning
🌇 Late afternoon — especially around moving tides
🎣 Focus on protected areas and current breaks while river levels remain elevated.

TBT! Still love this song! One year ago a group ran out of gas and called for some help. I sent them over a 5 gallon tank of gas and they wrote a song! It has a Jimmy Buffet feel!

🎣 Celebrating 3 Years at Stegbone’s Fish Camp & Resort! 🎣

Today we’re celebrating Daniel & Jodi Knight’s 3rd Anniversary as the proud owners of Stegbone’s Fish Camp & Resort!

But the story of this special place goes back 80 years. What began as Bob’s Fish Camp in 1946 became Norton’s Fish Camp in 1973, and then Stegbone’s Fish Camp in 1998. Through the decades and different names, one thing has remained the same—a place where people come to fish, relax, enjoy the river, spend time with friends and family, and make memories.

For the past three years, Daniel and Jodi have been honored to carry on that tradition and be a small part of the long history of this wonderful old Florida fish camp.

Thank you to all of our guests, friends, family, and Stegbone’s community for supporting us along the way. Whether you’ve been coming here for decades or just discovered us, you’re part of the Stegbone’s story.

Here’s to 3 years with Daniel & Jodi, 80 years of fish camp history, and many more memories yet to be made! 🐟🎣❤️

Another great day at Stegbones Fish Camp & Resort!

The boats came in, the fish were plentiful, and then the real work began! From a successful day on the water to everyone pitching in at the cleaning table, this is what fish camp life is all about. Even our feathered friend stopped by to see what was going on!
