A Full House, Full Plates & Happy Guests! 🍳🍂

There's something special about mornings at The Sautee Inn, especially when the house is full and the kitchen is busy!

With Oktoberfest in full swing, guests have been arriving throughout the week and weekends, keeping Rebecca, Melinda and Brooke on their toes. And while everyone comes to the North Georgia mountains for different reasons, they all get to enjoy one of our favorite traditions — a delicious, homemade breakfast.

From fluffy biscuits and savory roasted potatoes to crispy bacon and a golden-baked breakfast dish, there's always something wonderful coming out of the kitchen.

We're so grateful for all the guests who continue to make The Sautee Inn part of their Helen getaway.

Serenity Sunday 🌿

A full house, a beautiful mountain morning, and the wonderful aroma of a homemade breakfast filling The Sautee Inn. ❤️

With a hungry crowd gathered around the breakfast table this morning, Rebecca barely had a chance to take photos before everyone started enjoying the delicious spread!

And what a breakfast it was!

A beautiful bowl of fresh fruit, a colorful medley of roasted potatoes (including purple potatoes!), perfectly twisted bacon, and both sweet and savory French toast. A little something for everyone!

Of course, the best part of a Sunday morning at The Sautee Inn isn't just what's on the breakfast table.

It's waking up surrounded by the beauty of the North Georgia mountains, enjoying that first cup of coffee, and knowing there's no need to rush.

Good food. Beautiful views. And a Sunday morning worth slowing down for.

Caring for a little piece of history. ❤️🏡

When a building has been standing for 130 years, there's always a little something that needs attention!

At The Sautee Inn, preserving the charm and character of our historic property is an ongoing labor of love. From maintaining the beautiful porches and balconies to the countless little details that come with caring for a home built in the late 1800s, there's always something to be done.

This week, Mike's sons came to lend a hand, replacing weathered wood, painting balconies and tackling some much-needed maintenance around the property.

It's not always the glamorous side of running a bed-and-breakfast, but it's certainly one of the most important.

For Rebecca and Mike, caring for The Sautee Inn means more than welcoming guests and serving homemade breakfasts. It means honoring the history of this beautiful old home while making sure it continues to be a comfortable, welcoming place for everyone who visits.

A little hard work, a lot of love, and 130 years of history worth preserving. ❤️

After a long wait, we're thrilled to announce that The Sautee Inn is now licensed to sell b**r and w**e! 🎉

Sometimes the best place to meet is somewhere in the middle. ❤️

This week, we loved hearing that several groups of guests traveling from different places chose The Sautee Inn as their gathering spot — a place where everyone could meet, settle in and enjoy a few days together in the North Georgia mountains.
And even better? They chose a midweek getaway.

There's something wonderful about meeting up without waiting for the weekend. Mornings begin with a homemade breakfast instead of an alarm clock. There's time for coffee on the porch, an afternoon exploring the mountains or downtown Helen, and evenings spent catching up with the people you came to see.

And right now, there's even more reason to make it a fall getaway. 🍂 Oktoberfest is in full swing in Helen, with festivities happening throughout October — while The Sautee Inn offers a quieter place to come home to at the end of the day.

Sweet Treat Tuesday ❤️🍫

Okay, Melinda...we may need to talk.

Because this one might be too good to remain just a Sweet Treat Tuesday experiment. 😊

This week's treat from The Sautee Inn kitchen:
Red Velvet Cake Jars with Chocolate Cream Cheese Icing.

Layers of red velvet cake and rich chocolate cream cheese icing, tucked into individual jars and waiting for our guests at the end of the day.

And apparently they were a hit.
The guests LOVED them.

In fact, we're already wondering if Melinda needs to turn this one into a signature cake at the Inn...or maybe even add a Red Velvet Cake to our birthday celebrations. 🎂

🌿 Sunday Serenity

Sometimes, the most beautiful things reveal themselves when everything is quiet.

Early one morning, before breakfast was served and before the Inn had begun to stir, sunlight streamed through the dining room windows and fell across these beautiful wooden tables.

And for a moment, they became something more than the place where our guests gather each morning.

There’s a story in the wood.

These tables were handcrafted by a local craftsman from black walnut and white oak trees that once stood right here on The Sautee Inn property. Rather than letting that beautiful wood go to waste, it was given a new life—a place where guests now gather over homemade breakfasts, share stories, make new friends and begin another day in the North Georgia mountains.

There is something we love about that.

Trees that were once part of the landscape are still part of the Inn today—just in a different way.

And on a quiet morning, when the sunlight catches the grain of the wood just right, you can't help but stop and appreciate the craftsmanship...and the history beneath your fingertips.

Sometimes serenity is found in the mountains.

And sometimes, it's waiting right there at the table.

🌿 Slow down. Relax. Stay awhile.

Celebrate Friday looks a little different today…because today we're celebrating Rebecca! 🎂❤️

It's Rebecca's birthday — although anyone who knows her probably won't be surprised to hear that she's spending much of it taking care of everyone else.

Along with welcoming a full house of guests at The Sautee Inn — and navigating quite a few special dietary requests this weekend! — Rebecca and her sister Melinda have also been busy shopping, prepping and cooking for tomorrow night's Sautee Art Affair at the Sautee Nacoochee Center.

The Inn is proud to be a Gold Level Sponsor of the Center, but Rebecca and Melinda take that support one step further by donating their time and talents in the kitchen, too. These photos are from last year's event, and judging by what they created then, we can only imagine what's coming out of that kitchen this year!

If you've stayed at The Sautee Inn, you already know that Rebecca has a gift for making people feel cared for — whether she's preparing breakfast for her guests, adding a special touch to someone's celebration or cooking for her community.
So today, we'd like to turn Celebrate Friday around and celebrate her. ❤️

Happy Birthday, Rebecca! We hope somewhere between taking care of your guests and feeding a crowd, you save a little time tonight for Mike — and for someone else to take care of you for a change. 🎂
