Planning your first trip to Savannah, GA? Here are 12 things I want you to know before visiting ✨ 
After living in Savannah for years and welcoming thousands of guests through Hosting Savannah, these are the little pieces of advice I find myself sharing over and over again.

Because there’s visiting Savannah...and then there’s really experiencing Savannah.

Stay in the Historic District. Take the trolley around the full loop before you start hopping off. Try a new coffee shop every morning. Take your cocktail to-go. Shop local. Wander farther than River Street.

And probably my favorite piece of advice of all?

Enjoy exploring on foot.

Walk through one more square. Turn down the street that looks pretty. Notice the doors, the ironwork, the old brick and the Spanish moss. Sit on a bench a little longer than you planned. Leave some room in your itinerary for absolutely nothing.

Savannah is one of those cities that gets better when you slow down enough to really notice it.
