The Peacock Place Guest House sits off to the side behind the Main House, with it's own private parking lot and second driveway entrance. The outdoor space is surrounded with privacy fence along two 20'+ building sides, including a 200 sq foot furnished slab patio with grill, plus gardens and fire pit. Beaches for every mood:
-Walk to Harbert Beach 1mi... (kids wagon, bikes, beach umbrella and chair, small cooler).
-Free parking for one car at our town's hidden gem, Cherry Beach, 1.5 miles away.
-Famous Warren Dunes State Park is only a 2mi drive- highly recommended and well worth the $8 entrance fee!
-Weko Beach in Bridgman is fun at sunset and the best dog beach access (to the left from the parking lot).
-Silver Beach in St. Joseph, near the fishing pier (permits required).
-- (Silver Lake has Four-wheeler trails for those of you in the know.) Less than half a mile from Lake Michigan, across the street from Harbert Community Park, (offering play ground, dog park, fishing pond, picnic area, farmer's market, ice skating, and baseball)... Nearby local Harbert and Cherry Beaches, and Warren Dunes State Park with sand dunes to climb and waves to conquer... Warren Woods and Chikaming Park and Preserve, Fernwood Gardens, Captain Mike's Funpark... restaurants, art galleries, antiques, wineries, brew pubs, casino, nature trails and highway access. What's provided: There are information binders near the tv, including township good neighbor policy, menus, maps, attractions... Beach pass for Cherry Beach, starter supplies, linens, towels, left-behind condiments (except prime summer when all leftovers go into the trash). Visit Louisa's Cafe a few doors down, (on Harbert Rd, the closest township beach access), for gourmet breakfast and lunch. Gulistan, across the street, offers fine dining. Downtown Sawyer, (2 miles from Peacock Place, just East of I-94 exit 12), is home of the famous Greenbush Brew Pub, Sawyer Garden Center for high-end groceries, an IGA Express with wine and beer, a Dollar Store, and excellent Infusco Coffee House (6am-6pm) with fresh roasted beans for sale, Sawyer Hardware for bundles of firewood, the truck stop with fast food and a 24hr diner, and more. Liquor stores, pharmacies and dollar stores are nearby in New Buffalo and Bridgman (visit Weko Beach for dogs-- park and walk to the left/South). Meijer, the closest big box grocer, is 13 miles North-east on Red Arrow Hwy (RAH), in Stevensville, just beyond the Tractor Supply. For more fine dining, head South to Three Oaks (exit 4) and New Buffalo (exit 1) to enjoy all that Harbor Country offers! Be sure to visit nearby Acorn Theater for Chicago-quality stage shows and venture up to St. Joseph for more culture. And, of course, the casinos and the winery tour buses are hot destinations. On the way, make a stop near the flashing light at Union Pier (exit 6) for sandwiches at Milda's Deli.
