When we opened the doors to The Breakers this summer, we hoped to create more than a beautiful place to stay. We wanted it to feel special—the kind of place that stays with you long after you leave.

Reading notes like this in our guest book has meant more to us than we can say.

To be told that The Breakers ranks among someone’s favorite places after travels from Greece to Cyprus to Austria and beyond is an incredible compliment. But it’s the words that follow that really touched us: “soul-filled by this view, these sounds, and the salty sweet ocean air.”

That is exactly what we hoped The Breakers would be.

This first season, you have loved this little inn so well. You’ve celebrated here, returned to old traditions, started new ones, sat in the Adirondack chairs a little longer than planned, fallen asleep to the waves, and filled these rooms with so many memories.

We feel incredibly lucky to be the caretakers of a place that means so much to so many.

To every guest who stayed with us, wrote us a note, shared a story, or simply told us you couldn’t wait to come back—thank you. You have made our first season at The Breakers one we will never forget.

And to the Razidlos from Minnesota—thank you for putting into words exactly what we hope people feel when they come here.

There are no words to describe the magic of a Higgins Beach morning—you really have to see the sun hit the Atlantic for yourself.

We still have rooms available this October. Grab a warm blanket, a hot mug, and come watch the sunrise with us.”

There’s something about the tides at Higgins Beach.

High tide brings the ocean close. Low tide leaves miles of sand to wander.

Before long, you stop watching the clock and start living by the tide.

Maybe that’s part of the magic of this place.

There are no words to describe how grateful we are for these two…but I’m going to give it a try…

Suela and Rron, it’s hard to put into words what you have meant to us and to The Breakers this summer. You gave so much of yourselves to this place—your hard work, your kindness, your energy, and your willingness to jump in wherever you were needed.

We opened The Breakers with so many hopes and dreams, and you became such an important part of making those dreams a reality. We couldn’t have done this without you.

Saying goodbye is much harder than we ever expected. We are going to miss you every day, and having you as part of our Breakers family. But as sad as we are to see you go, we are even more excited to see where life takes you next. You both have such bright futures ahead of you, and we will always be cheering you on.

Thank you for believing in us, for caring for The Breakers as if it were your own, for treating our guests like family and for helping make our very first summer one we will never forget.

You will always have a home at The Breakers. We love you both
