Today, we celebrate 250 years of America’s independence—a remarkable milestone in our nation’s history. As you gather with family and friends, we hope your day is filled with laughter, great memories, campfires, good food, and plenty of red, white, and blue.

Last night’s sunset over SOBO’s Campground was one of those moments that makes you stop, take a deep breath, and simply take it all in. The colors painted across the South Dakota sky were nothing short of incredible, and we’re so grateful to have shared it with our amazing guests.

To everyone who have chose to spend an evening with us—thank you. Your support means the world to our family, and we’re honored to be a small part of your travels and memories.

Here’s to beautiful sunsets, peaceful nights, and the wonderful people who make SOBO’s Campground such a special place.

Our daily summer Ranger programs are back!

Starting this week, we are now offering these programs daily through September:

🪨 8:30 am - Geology Walk at Door Trail
🦴 10:30 am - Morning Fossil Talk at Fossil Exhibit Trail
🦴 2:00 pm - Afternoon Fossil Talk at Fossil Exhibit Trail
🌾5:30 pm- Evening Prairie Walk at the Ben Reifel Visitor Center
🤠 9:00 pm - Evening Program at the Cedar Pass Lodge Amphitheatre
🌌 9:30 pm - Night Sky Program at the Cedar Pass Lodge Amphitheatre

In addition, both of our visitor centers and the Badlands Fossil Preparation Lab are open daily:

🏠 8:00 am to 5:00 pm - Ben Reifel Visitor Center
🛠️ 9:00 am to 4:00 pm - Badlands Fossil Preparation Lab (located in the Ben Reifel Visitor Center)

Even the wildlife knows where to find the best views!

Caught these crazy birds taking an evening stroll into the sunset at SOBOs Campground tonight. The Badlands put on another incredible show, and these guys had front-row seats.

Now the real question is… where were they during turkey season?! 😂🦃
