HELP FIND A TIN MAN!!!!!
An Arlington boy who has endured several medical challenges is heartbroken after a statue given to him by his great grandmother was taken!!!
The family posted this:
Our Tin Man yard decoration was given to Elliott by his great-grandmother (Nana) 9 years ago when he was just 2 years old.
The metal statue has been with us through three homes and multiple heart surgeries and procedures. He’s been a magical little fixture in our yards for years and has become a very sentimental part of Elliott’s childhood.
For those who know our family, you know that “Tin Man” is also Elliott’s nickname.
Throughout his heart journey, that name and character has become such a special part of who he is.
So this isn’t just an old, faded yard decoration to us—it’s his Tin Man, a gift from his great-grandmother that has been with him through so much of his life.
Recently, someone took this Tin Man from right beside our front window. He was practically leaning against the house, so whoever took him had to walk up into our yard, into the lined garden area and pull him from his place between the bushes where he “lived”.
Elliott is extremely upset by this.
But it also hurts because we teach our boys to see the good in people.
To not only be kind and compassionate themselves but to trust and believe that people generally want to do the right thing.
It’s hard to explain why someone would walk up to our home and take something that isn’t theirs.
So, I know it’s a long shot but we’re really hoping this ends with someone choosing kindness and helping Elliott’s Tin Man come home.
Neighbors in the 76016 (Arlington, TX) area, please keep an eye out.
If you notice a Tin Man decoration that seems to have recently appeared in a nearby yard (especially one with a now faded red heart and a little rust around the edges) please let us know.
And if you or your kiddo accidentally took him from our front yard… well, no worries.
We’d just really, really like him back.
No questions asked.
You can put him back where you found him and we’ll be so grateful.
Tin Man, wherever you are, Elliott wants you back!
Half the heart, twice the fight.
