At our March meeting, the Surf Kings enjoyed a history of lighthouses presented by Bill Dunn of the Sea Girt Lighthouse Citizen's Committee. We meet monthly at the Sea Girt Lighthouse and learned a lot of things that we did not know.

We found out that our Surf Kings Fishing Club is the oldest community group to continually use the lighthouse for meetings and events, starting around 1958 or '59.

After the presentation, Bill gave us a mini tour of the upstairs room that houses an old Fresnel Lens (pronounced FreyNel).

If you're ever in the area, the committee gives tours on Sundays.

On Saturday, April 9th. the Surf Kings will be assisting American Legion Post 432 at the Opening Day Trout Tournament at Spring Lake. The first 25 children that weigh in a trout at the American Legion station will receive one of these lures, compliments of the Surf Kings. The lures are hand made and donated by our very own Kevin Markow.
