New solar PV array with battery backup is now online. It necessitated a new roof and new siding, so we went ahead and fixed up the bench, too, which should make the association happy. All that’s left now is a power wash and new sealer on the walls.

Replacing the roof in preparation for new solar panels. The shape of the roof prohibits as many panels as I’d like. Since the climate is changing and power outages are going to be more frequent, we are also installing battery back-up, which will run the house on a reduced usage set-up. And to the guests who found themselves with a work crew descending on them unexpectedly, our sincere apologies. We did our best but communications broke down.

“Each day, sometimes each hour, brings change.” - Lady Margot Fenring. The spring flower show is coming to an end, and summer flowers are making themselves known. Seeing the meadows change with the season is one of the best things about The Sea Ranch. And we have a front row seat!
