Here’s a little of what we’ve been up to at Castaway Lodge 🎣 Good fish, good folks, and a gator just passing through. 🐊😂

The Maxwell group was back, and at this point, these guys are more like family than clients. They joined Capt. James Cunningham for another Cast & Blast, splitting their time between the field and the bay. Always good having these guys back at Castaway and making more memories together!

🔥 REDFISH LIMITS & THE DRUM BITE IS HAMMERING! 🔥
Capt. Braden got his crew on the redfish limits, and once the box was handled, they kept right on rolling — CPR’ing another 20+ reds while the rest of the boats went to work putting a serious hurt on the black drum. 💪🎣
A few trout mixed into the action as well.
The program has been pretty straightforward: live and fresh-dead shrimp worked over that mid-grass pattern and staying with the bite. When those fish get settled in and start chewing, it can turn into one of those days where everybody stays busy. 🔥
🍂 Fall fishing on the Texas Mid-Coast is here, and this is a great time to get a trip on the books. Bring your buddies, customers, employees, or the family and come spend a couple days with us in Seadrift.

October is officially underway here at Castaway Lodge, and just like that, we’ve rolled out of alligator season and straight into one of our busiest stretches of the fall. We wrapped up the final day of Texas alligator season with

Great American Homes brought out an awesome group of 33 guys for two days of fishing, with 11 of our guides hitting the water to keep everyone on the fish.

Getting a group that size organized, paired with guides, loaded up, and headed out takes a little teamwork, but once those boats left the lodge, it was game on.

The crew had a couple of great days on the water, and we’re glad to keep the busy stretch rolling!
