Resting on the Rock

Resting on the Rock Resting on the Rock Bed & Breakfast a comfortable, quiet, restful, quality family time on the central Oregon coast. We hope to see you soon.

We are centrally located, yet provide a rural retreat feeling just ten miles south of Newport, Oregon and one block east of Highway 101. Nestled amid trees only six hundred yards from the magnificent Pacific Ocean, Resting On The Rock Bed and Breakfast welcomes you to a haven of restful quiet. We are family friendly, welcoming families with children of all ages. A family style breakfast is served

in our dining area Monday through Saturday. A buffet continental breakfast is served Sunday morning. For our guests with special food needs, we gladly customize your breakfast according to your needs. We request two weeks advance notice, preferably at the time you make your reservations. We have two rooms available, each with their own amenities. From the Sunset Room, you can watch the Pacific Ocean, whales migrating, lots of different birds and infinitely unique sunsets. The Suit looks out over our terraced flower garden featuring native flowering plants. If you like exploring rocky tide pools, we have many, only a ten minute walk away. A five mile long, uncrowded sandy beach is only a five minute drive or a delightful ten minute walk from our door. On the beach you can search for shells, play in the waves, search for seals, build sand castles, fly kites or walk along the surf hand in hand with the one you love. So much to enjoy and many memories to make here on the Oregon coast.

Ooops. The last run of the P&T is SUNDAY, January 24th. Sory about the typo.

David's model railroad, the Pickney and Taylor is going to be shut down and abandoned. Come join us for the last run of the P&T, January 23rd from 1-5PM and operate the railroad for the last time. We'll have treats (probably cookies) and drinks hot and cold. We're selling the house and the railroad must go, so next week begins the demolition of the railroad. The useful parts/sections will be stored, then reused in the next (new and improved) P&T wherever we end up. (probably in the Willamette Valley).
If' you'd rather not see the railroad torn up, you can make an offer on the house to Julie Livingston at Valley Broker, 541-757-0222, '[email protected]'.

To everything there is a season. The season has passed for Resting On The Rock B&B. We have closed our B&B effective October 1st, 2015. We have chosen to retire and move on to other pursuits. Pursuits like weaving and writing (watch for Weft and Write), more time with our family and grandchildren, ministering at The Living Rock Studios in Brownsville, OR, (check out 'thelivingrockstudios.org) canoeing, combining it all and just playing more. Maybe David will even finish his kayak.
We're moving to the Albany Oregon area. We'll miss the joys of making strangers friends, but we'll find new friends in what ever ministries the Lord calls us into. Where ever we go, we can be reached at 541-270-1181. Penny promised folks three favorite B&B recipes. They are posted on 'restingontherock.com'.
May the Lord bless you and may our paths cross again.

Spring is here. Our yard is popping into an artist's pallet of blues, yellow and red, with rhododendrons around us beginning to come into bloom.
This week end (May 1 & 2) is our first garage and art sale. We've yarn, (handspun and other), books, toys, art work, just stuff, some of it free.
We've lots of bird activity in and around our yard, not to mention in Beaver Creek, just north of us.
It's beautiful here all year, make your reservation with us before the tourists get all the good dates.
