Labor Day weekend starts tomorrow. The lake is ready.

Some long weekends you spend recovering from. Some you actually feel rested after.

September 17 is Constitution Day, and Lake Mead National Recreation Area is marking it with free entry for all U.S. citizens and residents.

That means no entrance fee standing between you and 90 minutes of driving south from Las Vegas, canyon walls dropping 800 feet into Lake Mohave, and a lake that has no idea it's a Thursday.

Cottonwood Cove is open. Boat rentals are available. And through fall, motel rooms are 50% off Sunday through Thursday. Constitution Day happens to be a Thursday.
