Robert Lee Alexander Jr. “Bob”, age 79, passed away peacefully at Select Care Covenant in Saginaw, Michigan on March 28, 2026. He was born May 20, 1946, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Robert Lee Alexander Sr. and Bessie I.Summerfield.
Robert joined the U.S. Army in March 1967 and met his wife, Susan Kay Reamer at the local A & W, after his discharge. They were married in July 1970 in Vassar. Settling in Caro, Robert started work at the Vassar Foundry, after many years, he moved to other lines of work. He loved DJing with Les, which opened up lots of doors for them, from bars to weddings. Bob and Sue were members of the Eagles in Caro for many years before her passing. After many years and adventures, he finally landed at his life-long dream, Alexander’s Bait and Tackle. Bob enjoyed being outside, gardening, hunting, camping and fishing were many of his hobbies.
Robert is survived by his sister, Beverly Kerkau-Toledo of Weidman, his children, Ronda Griffith of Colorado Springs, Tabitha Alexander of Flint and Les Alexander of Sebewaing. His five granddaughters, Darion (Jake) Marrs of Flushing, Maiya Griffith of Colorado Springs, Courtney Hartman of Caro, Alexis Hartman of Flint and Marissa Griffith of Colorado Springs, and a great grandson Jasper Marrs of Flushing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Bessie, his wife of 35 years, Susan (Sue) Alexander, his sister, Joan Huizar and brother, James Alexander.
The family asked in lieu of flowers those wishing to express sympathy are invited to send cards and memorials directly to the family.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in the summer..

We are very proud to help with this event. The past years have been a lot of fun. Hearing stories and meeting people who fought for our freedom makes it even better.

Time to Sign up 4 Walleye Fishing!

Please read this thoroughly so we can sign you up quickly.

This year's event will be held on May 16th, 2026, with May 17th as a backup day if the weather is unsuitable.
Meet point will be at Sebewaing River Campground.
Arrival will be from 6 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. Boats leave the dock at 7 a.m., but safety protocols and signatures are needed before departure. Please be sure to have your fishing license upon arrival. Therefore, anyone arriving after 6:45 a.m. may be unable to board a boat.

This event is for veterans only... We will be switching from a boat draw this year, which means you have the opportunity to fish with people you arrive with, this is first come first serve and you MUST be standing in line together. This is not a guarantee and amount of people will play a factor.
BOATS ARE STILL RANDOM!

Sign up, this year we will be collecting a $35 deposit to be on our sign-up list. There are two options with this $35;
🎣Option one: You use this deposit as payment for one shirt and upon arrival at the event you will receive your shirt, specific to this year's event!
🎣Option two: You make a refundable deposit. This deposit will be returned to you in full upon your arrival. Please note that if you do not show up to the event, your deposit is non-refundable.
These are the only two options and a $35 deposit is required, if one is not given you will not be able to participate in this year's event. No exceptions. This was a hard decision, but with the results of last year, it is necessary.

Regarding the shirts. Pre-Order ONLY. We will not be making a second order. You are allowed to purchase as many or as few as you want but we will only be doing one order this year. If your order has not been placed by April 1st you will not receive a shirt this year.

We hope everyone is having a fun and safe winter!!

Unfortunately we had a camper move out and left us this mess. This is a reminder that this is unacceptable and why I have to make new rules every year. Due to this being a continuous issue, there will now be a fine for anything left behind.

We take pride in our campground and appreciate everyone who does as well!

Only a couple short months away from camping season, see you soon!
