The Cabins at Currier Landing

The Cabins at Currier Landing A trio of cabins on the coast of Maine in tiny Sedgwick, tucked into the woods near 300 feet of shore-land on the old Thos.

Currier Salt Water Farm, a 27 acre tract of land. These timeless cabins were designed by the current owner/architects.

{Meadow Cabin} has an open plan with spacious living & dining on one end. On the other end it has a primary bedroom with sliding doors for a bit of privacy. The “cube” in the middle of the cabin houses the kitchenette, the bath, and a sleeping alcove with bunk beds for the kids or additional guests. All wrapped up in a sturdy & snug, timber-frame envelope.

{Meadow Cabin} has proven popular for families with children exploring the area, as you see here with this tiny traveler browsing some of the periodicals we’ve provided. “World of Interiors” anyone? {Many thanks to for this sweet photo.} In addition to the large, open-air bedroom with a queen size bed, this cabin also has a bunk bed alcove that sleeps two. {Meadow} also has a spacious living/dining/kitchen area all on one level. As with all our cabins there is a spacious deck with privacy screening to expand your time in the beautiful wilds of Maine.

{Meadow} Cabin has a great big bedroom at one end of the spacious cabin. Big sliding doors offer a bit of privacy. Bunk beds are just around the corner for extra guests. As you fall asleep after a rejuvenating day in the great outdoors, you can still see the light from the gas stove dancing across the wood ceiling and taking the chill off those chilly Maine nights.

Reaching for the sky at {Fern} cabin. This little bump out is part of a sleeping/napping/reading alcove. Take in the view of the fern laden forest out this window or turn your head a little and you’ll see the water glimmering through the trees towards the Benjamin River Harbor. Open the window and touch a leaf outside. Or just kick back and enjoy the fresh sea breezes.

We pause for a moment in celebration of Earth Day. There’s lots of news about the environment these days that makes our eyebrows furrow, but we’re choosing to focus today on just how rejuvenating nature can be. This video was taken in Acadia National Park - just an hour away by car or 20 minutes as the crow flies from our cabins. This week we had family visiting who decided to check out a natural wonder in the park - Thunder Hole - which features booming waves from the Atlantic Ocean crashing into the rocky shores of the park. The sea was stormy the day they visited. Watch the video to see and hear the beautiful booming waves…and then their reaction. {Spoiler alert: the windows were rolled down. Smiles and laughter all around in that car full of soaked lovers of life here on earth. Come back soon you wonderful people!} Nature: it’s food for the soul.💙🌎

{Pine Cabin} has a turn table - in addition to Bluetooth capabilities - and includes some midcentury vinyl we got at the estate sale of a neighbor who was a noted professor instrumental in the deconstructivism movement in literature. {Architecture friends will recognize the name Jacques Derrida who was an associate of his in the academic world.} Enjoy some operas, the Beatles, French ballads, folk music…or come prepared with your own tunes to sit back in this modernist lounge chair, with a good book in hand. Or settle in and stare out the window. {BTW, that walnut credenza was designed by and made by the hands of our friend }
