Sedona’s fall festival isn’t exactly your typical pumpkin-and-hayride situation.

Fest of Fall takes over Posse Grounds Park on October 17 with a full Gaming Center, skate park Ride Jam, pickleball and co****le tournaments, food trucks, vendors, music and activities for the kids.

Basically, there’s a little bit of everything happening in one place.

Pickleball is taking over Sedona for three straight days this October.

The 2nd Annual Fest of Fall Pickleball Rally runs October 16–18 at Posse Grounds, with singles, doubles and mixed doubles competing throughout the weekend.

Saturday also lands right in the middle of Sedona’s Fest of Fall, so the park will have food trucks, vendors, live music, a Gaming Center, co****le and a skate park Ride Jam happening alongside the tournament.

Five women who helped shape Sedona and Northern Arizona are meeting again… in the afterlife.

Dead Quilters The Musical brings together five real women from local history, including the woman behind the concept for the Chapel of the Holy Cross, a Navajo public-health leader, an environmental activist and a WWII riveter.

The premise? They’re dead, they don’t necessarily get along, and they have to work through “12 Steps for Being Dead” before they can ascend to heaven.

Their stories unfold through humor, history and 12 original songs, with plenty of Sedona history mixed in.

The show runs October 9–11 at Mary D. Fisher Theatre in West Sedona.

Sedona after dark deserves its own spot on the itinerary.

Sedona is an International Dark Sky Community, which means on a clear night, the stars here can put on a serious show.

And if you’re visiting this October, mark October 8–12.

The new moon falls on October 10, creating one of the darkest stretches of the month and a great window for spotting the Milky Way.

A few tips:

• Get away from bright lights
• Give your eyes about 20 minutes to adjust
• Skip the phone screen while your eyes adjust
• Check the weather before heading out
• You don’t need a telescope

Then look up.
