the August Sedona formula:

Hike early (5:30–10am, trails empty, light incredible, Cathedral Rock is incredible for sunrise)
Back to Outbound for pool and spa during peak heat (10am–3pm)
Lucida for a late lunch or happy hour (we recommend the Not Your Mamma's Vortex)
Then monsoon rolls through around 3pm, and you watch it from the patio with a cocktail.
The sky clears and you get the best sunset of the trip.
Repeat.
