The Loft House is small, cozy, and tucked right along the Guadalupe River, but our goal has always been bigger than just providing a place to sleep. We want guests to slow down, relax, enjoy the water, and feel genuinely cared for while they’re here.

They loved the cozy bedroom, the well-stocked kitchen, early morning kayaking on the river, and especially the decks over the water. And honestly, that’s exactly what Meadow Lake Retreat is all about.

The tiny home is cute and comfortable, but the real magic happens outside: coffee on the deck, kayaks on the river, quiet mornings, and those peaceful waterfront views that make you forget what day it is.

After the rain cleared, one of our guests captured this view at Meadow Lake Retreat, and honestly, wow.

That Texas sky showed off a little. The calm water, the reflection, the trees, the quiet after the storm. It’s the kind of evening that makes you slow down without even trying.

Their guestbook note said it best: kayaking the river, watching movies, playing games, cooking together, and soaking in that gorgeous sunset. They even mentioned our big twisted tree and the labeled cabinets. We love when the little details get noticed.

🇺🇸 Memorial Day Weekend on the Guadalupe 🇺🇸

Today we remember the men and women who gave everything for this country. Their sacrifice is the reason we get to enjoy simple moments like this… slow mornings on the water, family cookouts, boat rides, and Texas sunsets.

If you’re spending the weekend at one of our river retreats, we hope you take a moment to pause and remember what this holiday is really about.

And after that… enjoy the lake, the laughter, the fishing, the fires, and the people around you. That freedom came at a cost.

I had some time this morning to take a quick trip down the lake today Reiley Retreat before our next guests checked in and you would’ve thought I was in Florida. 🛶🌿🪶

Herons in the trees, giant tortoises soaking up the sun, and wildlife around every corner. Not a bad way to slow down for a minute here in Seguin, Texas.

Sometimes the best reset is just getting out on the water.

This one feels a little special. Today I finally took the boat out on Lake Placid at Reiley Retreat and traveled dam to dam for the first time since the dam repair.

The lake was calm, the ride was smooth, and everywhere you looked just felt alive again. Even this egret showed up like the unofficial mayor of the shoreline. 😄

There’s something about being back on the water that resets you a bit. No rush. No noise. Just fresh air, glassy water, and a reminder of why lake days never get old.

Reiley Retreat is ready for summer and we can’t wait to share it with you. ☀️🌊🛶

Another happy stay at the Bunk House 🙌

We love hearing when guests truly settle in and enjoy the slower pace out here. Peaceful mornings, quiet afternoons, and a space that feels just like it should from the moment you walk in.

It’s always the little things that mean the most to us, like labeled cabinets and drawers to make your stay simple, or having spaces set up so you can relax without thinking twice. Glad those details made a difference.

We’re also big on keeping things clear and easy, from check-in to house notes, yes even the water tank heads up. Hearing that everything felt smooth and stress-free is exactly what we aim for.

And it’s awesome to see guests getting out and enjoying the area too, there’s a lot of fun, small town charm packed in around here.

With all the rain we’ve had lately, Reiley Retreat is coming alive. The grass is greener, the lake feels fuller, and nature is showing off a little.

This little guy decided to stop by and take in the view… honestly, can’t blame him.
