The final results are in! And even we are surprised by how awesome it turned out! It’s amazing how a little refresh can make such a huge difference!

✅ Beautiful new granite countertops
✅ Upgraded sink & faucet
✅ Stainless refrigerator with more storage
✅ Wood backsplash walls refinished & protected with fresh polyurethane

As transplants who spent a lot of time in the City, this warms our hearts. You won’t find too many people there who are country fans, but you’d also be hard pressed to find someone who didn’t know of Dolly or be able to sing a line or two of one of her songs. In a poetic tribute to her life and the legacy she leaves behind, the Empire State Building also lit up in pink at 9:25PM (think of her song 9 to 5). 💕

🚨 PSA: PLEASE DON’T LEAVE THINGS OUTSIDE THE CABINS! 😳

We have bears.
Bears get hungry.
Bears are curious.
And apparently, bears LOVE new toys. 😂

It doesn’t matter whether it’s food or not. If you leave it outside, there’s a pretty good chance a bear is going to investigate it!

Both cabins have had bears that decided the garden hoses were particularly entertaining. So if you walk outside in the morning and find the hose stretched halfway down the hill…congratulations! You had a visitor. 🤪

And here’s another one we’ve learned from watching other people’s videos: bears apparently LOVE ripping apart cars to get to the scent of air fresheners. 😳 We haven’t researched enough to know which scents are the biggest temptation, so play it safe and leave the air fresheners at home!

We also have a theory that bears have a serious love affair with a certain major car-enthusiast brand’s foaming soap. You know…the foamy pink stuff. 😳
Whatever is in that stuff, it seems to drive them WILD!

We (and our guests) have collected quite a few more crazy bear stories. But we’d all rather watch someone ELSE’S bear destruction video than be the one standing there watching it happen to our stuff. 🤣

So before your stay, give us a shout! We’re happy to share some Bear-Wise Tips to help keep your things and our bears safe. 🐻💕

🚢 Titanic: A New Appreciation

We finally made it to the Titanic Museum! This experience gave us a whole new perspective! We learned so much about the people, the stories, and the events of that fateful night.

We loved being handed a card upon entry with the name of a passenger who was on that fateful trip. We followed our person throughout the museum’s stories and learned of their fate at the end of the tour.

We left with a much deeper appreciation for the history and the lives forever connected to the Titanic.
